さつまいもの普及に努めた「前田利右衛門」を祀った神社です。
別名、「からいも神社」。漁師の利右衛門は、琉球からさつまいもの苗を持ち帰り、広めました。
利右衛門が琉球に再渡航し、芋を持ち帰ろうとして海で遭難した際、供養したのが神社の起源です。
毎年10月、例祭として地区民がさつま芋を持ち寄り、品評会を催しています。
